ANIMAL BOARDING & ANIMAL SHELTER
The Papenbruch Animal Shelter and Boarding Facility has been a refuge for abandoned, confiscated, or surrendered animals for 28 years. It is often the first haven for mistreated and neglected animals. Upon their arrival, the animals are cared for and provided with everything they need.
Our goal is to find a loving and suitable home for all animals as quickly as possible. The shelter is intended to be, and can only be, a temporary solution for the animals. Thanks to the dedication and expertise of our shelter manager, Sven Galle, and his team, we succeed in this in most cases. Unfortunately, there are always a few animals that stay at the shelter for a long time or never leave, despite our best efforts to find them a new home.
Appearances in the press, radio, and television also help us spread our message and bring attention to our animals, encouraging caring people to adopt them. We take advantage of these opportunities whenever we can.
What We Do
We care for animals in our boarding facility and rehome surrendered and stray animals from the districts of Ostprignitz and Prignitz in Brandenburg.
This also means we provide an emergency service 365 days a year. We work closely with authorities, agencies, and nature-focused organizations on all matters related to animal welfare law and practical animal protection.
We offer advice on questions of animal care, provide follow-up support after rehoming, and assist in making decisions.
